Australian Wine Review – Geelong

Lying half way between Bordeaux and Burgundy,  Geelong contains 3 distinct sub-regions with their own unique growing conditions and soil types allowing for a broad selection of grape varieties to be grown.  Other than it’s staples of unrivaled Pinot Noir,  Shiraz and Chardonnay,  Geelong also sports more adventurous plantings as well,  such as  Merlot,  Gamay,  Primitivo,  Riesling,   Gewurztram and more. They also have well over 20 wineries open for tasting.
