Australian Wine Review – Goulburn Valley

The Goulburn Valley is a long stretch of land starting from central Victoria’s Seymour to Murray River’s Echuca.  A combination of the area’s gentler summers,  optimal water supply and sandy soils make this a fertile area, producing choice  marsanne,  rousanne and shiraz Rhone varietals as well as chardonnay.

In addition to visiting the cellar doors and vineyards,  Goulburn Valley also boasts an abundance of prolific apple, pear, peach and other stone fruit orchards providing visitors with a wonderful supply of fruit at the many farm gate sales.
